You use your hands every day—to work, communicate, and complete countless other tasks. If a debilitating hand condition prevents you from fully participating in daily activities, you know your quality of life may suffer. Fortunately, surgery can successfully treat many hand conditions, and free you to use your hands normally and comfortably.

If you live in the Augusta, Georgia area, and suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s contracture, or ganglion cysts, plastic surgeon Dr. Billy Lynn can surgically treat these conditions with skill and compassionate care. Board-certified in both surgery and plastic surgery, Dr. Lynn uses techniques that work to relieve pain and restore hand mobility while achieving the best possible aesthetic results.

If you would like to learn more about a specific hand procedure with Dr. Lynn, please see more information below.

  • Carpal Tunnel Release: During a carpal tunnel release procedure, Dr. Lynn makes an incision in the hand, separating tissue in the ligament that is putting pressure on the median nerve. If necessary, he also removes any additional tissue (such as a tumor) that may be causing your carpal tunnel symptoms.
  • Dupuytren’s Contracture: At times, scar-like tissue can extend into the fingers; causing them to bend toward the palm and prevent their full extension. When this occurs, it is called “Dupuytren’s contracture.” Surgery with board certified Augusta plastic surgeon like Dr. Billy Lynn can help you regain full use of your hands and fingers.
  • Ganglion Removal: Ganglions are benign, fluid-filled cysts that form in the joints, especially on the hands and wrists. During surgery, Dr. Lynn makes a small incision at the site of the ganglion cyst. He then removes the cyst, along with a portion of the tendon sheath or joint capsule surrounding the cyst.
